“Upcycling: A New Approach to Spolia and Reuse”

Sarah A. Rous is the Nancy and Robert J. Carney Postdoctoral Fellow in Classical Art and Archaeology at Rice University. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of the Classics at Harvard University in 2016, and spent two years in Greece as a fellow at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. Her research explores the intersection between social memory and the reuse of materials through the new approach of “upcycling.”
